Bunhill Shooting Club
Bunhill’s History
For over two decades, Bunhill Shooting Club has been more than just a place to shoot—it’s been a nurturing ground where young shooters and former cadets have honed their skills and transitioned into the senior shooting scene. Founded with a mission to foster a love for target shooting, we have grown into a vibrant community where enthusiasts of all ages can develop their abilities, make lifelong friendships, and share their passion for the sport.
At Bunhill, shooting is our top priority. We are dedicated to introducing as many people as possible to the sport, ensuring that everyone—from beginners to seasoned marksmen—feels welcome. Our club offers the most competitive prices among all the rifle clubs at Bisley, making top-tier shooting experiences accessible to all.
Throughout the year, we host a number of competitions, with the Frank Cox Shield being a highlight. Named in honour of our Life Chairman, this prestigious event embodies the spirit of excellence and community that defines Bunhill.
As part of our commitment to growth and excellence, the club is currently positioning itself for a new era of expansion. Following the transfer of our previous property to the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting (CCRS), we are actively pursuing the acquisition of a new clubhouse. This new facility will further enhance our offerings, providing a modern and welcoming space for our members.
We are also investing in new equipment and resources to ensure that Bunhill remains the foremost centre for excellence, particularly for young shooters entering the UK’s target shooting environment. After experiencing a decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our club is now revitalised and more dedicated than ever to its mission.
What truly sets us apart is our community. Our members are known for their friendly, welcoming nature and their unwavering dedication to the sport. Many have been with us for years, enjoying the camaraderie and the shared pursuit of excellence in shooting. We are proud to be supported by a team of experienced coaches and range officers, who provide expert instruction tailored to each shooter’s needs, ensuring continuous improvement and the highest standards of safety.
Whether you are a young shooter just starting out, a former cadet looking to continue your journey, or an experienced marksman seeking a supportive community, Bunhill Shooting Club is the place for you. Join us and become part of a tradition that has been helping shooters aim higher and shoot better for over twenty years.

Bunhill Lodge
Bunhill shooting club has been located at Bunhill Lodge since its inception. The Lodge dates back a hundred years, with the cedar annex building added in the late 1950s. Although no longer managed by the shooting club, Bunhill still benefits from the use of its accommodation for £15 pp per night. This included bedding. The lodge has accommodation for up to 30 people and is used widely by universities, schools, and other shooting organisations throughout the year. In addition to this, the lodge offers catering for the club on shooting days for just £10 for a two course meal.
